"Year After Year After Year"
(Friends Last Forever)

by John A. Tuttle (08-25-93)

As the Summer Days get shorter
And the leaves begin their change,
I think about a friend I have
And one thing strikes me strange.

We sat around for many hours,
Playing all the games we know.
Looking at the rest of life, like
It was some great picture show.

Actors we did play our parts,
And though we had no script.
The pieces always fell in place,
And we never lost our grip.

Another scene is unfolding now,
Our parts are not so clear.
But we will always be good friends,
Year after year after year.
